Joy, Energy, Nutrition
I am here to support and guide you through the most challenging time of your life. Whether you have just been diagnosed or you have been given the “all clear”, the cancer journey is a physical and emotional roller coaster. It often leaves you feeling confused, overwhelmed, and isolated but it doesn’t have to be that way. I want every woman surviving breast cancer to feel confident, empowered, and supported.
Now on to the personal stuff
I was a “healthy” 34 year old mom of three young girls when I was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer.
I went through the whole barrage of treatments: chemo, surgery, radiation.
During my treatment, any time I had a side effect or concern it was met with a recommendation for a new medication. I had medications for my medications for my medications. Never once were lifestyle changes discussed such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, or stress management. Even when I asked for recommendations on how to live a healthy life after cancer I still received no guidance.
I don’t want that for you.
I am here so you don’t have to feel the fear and anxiety of not knowing what to eat, or what exercises are safe after a mastectomy, and not feeling left out in the cold to navigate this new life after a cancer diagnosis alone. Let me be the person you lean on, let my shoulders carry your burden.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn more about me. I am a Registered Dietitian with a B.S. in Dietetics from Wayne State University in Detroit.
I take an integrative approach to health and healing. While I know that food is medicine, I also know that food isn’t the whole answer. Together, we will discuss your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health to identify and address imbalances so you can truly live the life you deserve.
On another note
I live with my husband and our three girls in Michigan. I love to get outside in nature and be active (the three months of the year that the weather is nice here that is). I love reading, dancing, and music. And ice cream, oh, and chocolate (shh don’t tell anyone!).
